Advocacy
AGC of Alaska strives to provide excellent advocacy for Alaska’s construction industry at all levels of government. Our mission is to inform legislators and community leaders about the importance and impact that our industry has on the state’s overall economy and infrastructure development. Through your involvement, AGC is able to provide a powerful and respected voice in the halls of local, state and federal government.
Our advocacy is a year-round venture that fights to protect construction’s interests with the local municipality or borough, Alaska’s executive branch, legislative branch, state agencies, state judicial system, the federal government and federal agencies. Our advocacy efforts never stop because we know that your work never stops. AGC provides multiple ways for you to get involved in our advocacy efforts and to make sure that your voice is heard when it comes to policies that impact construction.

Annual Legislative Fly-In
Every year, AGC members gather together in Juneau to advocate for our legislative priorities, to protect construction’s best interests and to establish relationships with legislators and other government leaders. We meet with Legislators, Commissioners, the Governor, and State Departments such as the Dept. of Transportation and the Dept. of Labor. This is AGC’s large advocacy push that only happens once a year. Consider getting involved in this year’s fly-in and learn more about past years’ fly-ins by clicking on the links below.
Weekly Legislative Reports
During Alaska’s Legislative Session, AGC’s lobbyist creates a weekly legislative report that provides information on: 1) what happened in Juneau in the past week, 2) what events are coming up for the next week, 3) it informs members of all the bills that are moving that may impact construction and 4) it informs members of the status of the bills and when they will be heard in committee. These are great reports to receive if you are interested in the happenings and legislation in Juneau!
